[1 minute self-development]
Good energy is infectious. As is bad. Respected author Jim Rohn said: 'You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.'
- So write out five names. Not the five people you spend most time with. But five people you really enjoy spending time with. You laugh. You feel inspired in their company. You enjoy being around them. You have fun. [1 minute]
Now pick up the phone and talk to these people. Hang out with them. Go for lunch with them. Plan a trip with them. Spend some time together. Feed off their energy and give some back. You'll feel good afterwards.
This simple thought is adapted from my book Confidence in a minute. I was reminded of it this week when Seth Godin's blog landed in my inbox. He talked of something similar but in relation to success.
"What's contagious: standards, ethics, culture, expectations and most of all, the bar for achievement."
Who do you surround yourself with?
Have a good week,
PS - did you enjoy last week's blog on 'Autumn Leaves'? I had an excellent response to it - thank you for all the replies and your lists of the things you love about autumn. In this week's Gold Club program we further explore the concept of reframing and how we can use it to think more positively and act more purposefully.
