WARNING: You may pick up some seriously useful ideas in this week’s article
A few weeks ago, I mentioned the book Daily Rituals - a fascinating look at the rituals of great minds.
Well the author Mason Currey and I have been chatting, (he in lovely sunny California, and me in dark, rainy London - not jel at all!), and he agreed I could interview him for the blog. You can listen right now to my ten minute interview with Mason by clicking below, and perhaps pick up some of these entertaining rituals for yourself.
Some of this stuff is absolutely intriguing. In the interview you'll find out:
- The incredible level of personal grooming Mozart would insist on having completed by 6am daily.
- The reason Freud's wife would put his toothpaste on his toothbrush for him.
- Why Benjamin Franklin insisted on parading around naked in his house every morning (!)
What is significant for us – looking to be high performers in our own lives – is that a series of patterns emerge amongst these high achievers. It turns out a surprising number of exceptional creative talents and achievers from past and present apparently have a lot of similar rituals. And you'll be pleased to hear that you don't have to parade around naked like Franklin in order to be successful.
It's time to up your game! Click below to listen to my interview with Mason Currey now. (It was recorded on Skype, and the sound quality is pretty good.)
Have a great week.
